About Me

Our Crew

My name is Jason Crist and I live and teach high school math in Clearwater, KS. I love to cook. In fact, up until 2013, I was really into the more technical aspects of cooking. Fond, pan sauces, caramelizing, de-glazing, the list and time it takes goes on and on. And then my wife (Erin) and I found out we were having two babies at the same time. That's right. Twins. In 2016, we added a beautiful baby girl, Delaney, to our crew.

I used to teach high school math, but now I am a K-12 technology facilitator and an athletic director. I coach middle school track, sponsor Student Council, serve in various church roles and like to occasionally play some golf? I know, you're busy too.

So the story goes something like this. I used to have a decent amount of time to make meals for Erin & I. After Harrison, Graham & Delaney were born, my "free time" became non-existent. Out of necessity, I started to experiment and research slow-cooker or crockpot recipes. All of the recipes can be assembled the night before, and then started the next morning. This blog is and will be a running log of what I have found to be successful recipes. Hopefully you find them helpful and more importantly tasty as well.

real people. real food. real slow.
